Recent searches and layout

The last eight submitted searches are stored locally for reuse and can be removed with Clear history in either search screen. Search results and filters are kept in memory while switching sections and reset when the app reloads. Split ratio, text width and line spacing are also saved only on this device. Recent searches and these additional layout preferences are not included in the study backup.

Backups, drafts and update notices

Study backups are created only when you choose Export. They contain saved notes, bookmarks, highlights, reading position and display settings in an unencrypted JSON file. You choose where to save or share the file. Native apps temporarily write it to their private cache for the system save/share dialog. Unsaved note drafts, a previous saved state and recovery snapshots stay locally on the device. The bell records locally whether you have read this version's release notes. It does not register for push notifications. A hosted web edition can check its own host for app files and prompt before activating an update; installed native and standalone-file editions do not check an update server.

Scope

This notice covers the installed Android and iOS apps, the local offline desktop reader, and the public Brenton LXX information and support website. The website hosting sections apply when you visit those public pages, not when you read offline.

Controller

Wort zur Wahrheit Apps — Christian Ehrnsperger, c/o Online-Impressum 1942, Europaring 90, 53757 Sankt Augustin, Germany, is responsible for this app, its information website and support enquiries. Contact: wortfuerwort.app@gmail.com. An additional contact route appears under Legal notice / Impressum.

Reading and study data

The app stores your reading position, display preferences, notes, highlights and bookmarks locally. It has no accounts, advertising, analytics, push notifications or cloud synchronization. Search terms and passages you read are not sent to the operator. The bundled text works without a network connection.

Local storage and retention

Local storage provides the reading and study features you request (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). Entries remain until you remove them, clear app/browser data or uninstall the app. Device or browser backup and transfer features can be governed by your system settings. Do not rely on this test edition as the only copy of important notes.

Copying and sharing

Copy places your selected passage on the device clipboard. Sharing passes that passage to the app you choose; personal notes are not attached. Your operating system, clipboard tools and chosen recipient service may process the text under their own policies. Nothing is sent by the reader automatically.

Support email

If you contact support, your email address, message and any attachments are processed to answer your request. Gmail is used for the support mailbox; Google may process email data outside the EEA under its applicable transfer safeguards. Please omit private notes or other sensitive information unless needed. Enquiries are deleted when no longer required, subject to legal retention duties. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual enquiries, otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, the legitimate interest in providing support.

External links

Source and information links open only when selected. The external provider can then receive your IP address and browser information. No external fonts, embedded videos or social widgets are loaded by the reader. Store downloads and operating-system services have their own privacy notices.

Public information website and hosting

The public information, privacy and support pages at septuaginta-interlinear.de/brenton-lxx/ are hosted by Hostinger. Opening these pages requires a connection to that website; ordinary reading and searching in the installed apps and standalone offline reader do not. The hosting service processes the requesting IP address, request time, requested page or file, HTTP method and status, transferred data volume and browser/device information supplied with the request. A referring-page address may also be transmitted by your browser.

Purpose, recipients and legal basis

Website request data is used to deliver the pages, maintain availability, diagnose errors and protect against misuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in a reliable and secure information and support website. Hostinger and its hosting subprocessors may process this technical data. The website does not receive your local reading history, searches, notes or bookmarks. Its own pages contain no advertising, tracking scripts, embedded social media or external fonts.

Website logs and retention

Technical request data can be recorded in hosting access and error logs. Retention is determined by the hosting service's log rotation and security requirements; data needed to investigate a specific incident or meet a legal obligation may be retained for that purpose. We do not create a separate archive of visitor logs for advertising or combine them with your study data. You can contact the controller for information about the applicable retention arrangements.

Hosting processing terms and international transfers

Hostinger publishes a Data Processing Addendum describing hosting processors, subprocessors and international-transfer safeguards. Depending on the infrastructure and subprocessors involved, processing outside the EEA may occur; the published terms describe the applicable safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where required. The provider's privacy notice and processing terms are linked below. These hosting arrangements are separate from the offline app's local storage.

Your rights

Where applicable, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may complain to a supervisory authority, including the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA). Contact the operator using the details above. Data stored only on your device cannot be accessed or deleted remotely by the operator.

Changes

Any future account, hosted service, analytics or synchronization feature will require an updated notice before activation.
